This little guy is our co-backdoor neighbor. His or her nest is in the tree in the yard behind us, and we get to see the family scampering in and out on a sort of regular basis.
Usually it’s scamper up, scamper down, don’t wait around to get your photo taken, but this particular morning, John pointed out to me that this neighborly squirrel was just hanging out at a comfy spot on a branch, munching a bit of breakfast, obligingly looking in our direction. (And for long enough that I had time to get my camera!)
I know it looks a little jungly back there – but that’s just the regular Portland mossy greenness on a normal locust tree.
