A Good Hiker

I’ve been sorting through my photos from the Little Zigzag Falls trail (just west of Mt. Hood) and found this little sequence of Maxwell making his way over a tricky outcropping of root and rock.

It’s not…

always …

finding your way up and over…

… but the view from the top is always worth a tail wag or two!

Maxwell may be small, cute, and fluffy, but he doesn’t act at all like the stereotypical prissy lap dog; he really is a good hiker.  He’s curious and brave, but not foolhardy – he’s never shown an inclination to jump off of anything too high for him (except into the water) and is willing to be carried if the terrain is too steep or tricky.
