Capitol, and another botanical mystery

California Capitol

While in Sacramento, we stopped by the California Capitol and walked around the grounds, which are very beautiful – full of orange trees and palm trees, azaleas (rhododendrons?) and camellias, statues and memorials scattered here and there … and a mystery tree, with these hanging blooms:

It was a little breezy and I struggled to get an in-focus shot; this is the best I could do.  But despite its blurriness … does anyone recognize the flowers?

By the time we circled the block, the sky was again clear.

  1. Oh wow, I’m glad you got photos from the beginning and end of our circle around the block – it makes the rapid weather change so obvious! I hope you find out what the mystery tree is :)
