Hoyt Arboretum

Here are the rest of the (promised) photos I meant to post last week from our mini-hike at the Hoyt Arboretum.

We were on the north side – in the more wild/woodsy area rather than on the paved paths.

The most odd thing we saw was some odd dots on the underside of some fern fronds, which turn out to be part of their reproductive process: spore clusters.  But we didn’t know that at first, and were puzzled and intrigued.  Even with the mystery solved, they still look interesting!
