Conical Hydrangea

These are coming out a few streets over from us right now.  I thought hydrangeas only came in Spherical, but these are quite horn-like.

  1. Hi Julianne, These are “oak leaf hydrangeas”. We have them at home. They look nice 12 months of the year — the flowers that is, even though in the winter the colors are gone.

    • I don’t know why I never noticed them before! I must have passed them lots of times in your yard, and in our neighborhood also (and probably elsewhere) but never noticed the odd shape or the strange leaves. Thanks for the ID!
